About Us
Founded in 2013 by Riddha Datta, Altitude started out by organising Treks in Indian Himalaya. Riddha personally led almost all of our treks during 2013-2019. Slowly we started operating in Nepal (since 2017) and we also ventured into niche markets such as Camping, Corporate Tours. As of 2024, on an average, we organise more than 50-60 departures monthly. We cater to almost 4000 clients yearly. We are now a team of 10+ individuals coming from various background working towards a common goal, making Altitude better and bigger.

Riddha Datta
Founder, CEO
RIDDHA is an avid Trekker and Traveller. He did his Basic Mountaineering Course from HMI and founded Altitude Adventure Holidays in 2013.

He also led the First and only documented team across Rathong La and Kang La in the Rathong Glacier Round Trek. In 2013, he led a Team to Toshigri Col, a high pass connecting East Tosh Glacier and Bara Shigri Glacier. This was the first and to date the only Documented crossing of this pass. He’s also a keen Photographer and Storyteller. Among other things, Riddha mostly takes care of our Branding activities. He’s a Man Utd fan and hates everything sky-bluish.

He makes sure ALL our Treks and Trips run smoothly and if any hiccups occur anywhere, he makes sure the issues are resolved ASAP. He’s also part of our Runners brigade and runs Marathons regularly. He also makes sure to join some Treks throughout the year. Partha is also the President of our Altitude Poets Society. Other members are Soumik and Sujoy. 😀

He did tricky Himalayan treks such as Bagini Glacier, Buran Ghati, Pin Bhaba Pass, and Kakbhusundi Tal among others. He is also an avid Traveller and explores various corners of North Bengal and Sikkim Himalayas. He brings all his Experience from the field to the Sales team. A passionate Sales person himself, Indranil is responsible for our Revenue generation. He’s a Barcelona fan and a Messi fan. Also an avid cricket lover, a destructive Batsman. His batting brings destruction to the Batting team, not the other way around.

Pradip is a senior Mountaineer, Rock Climber and Trekker, who has scaled several peaks and led difficult high-altitude treks such as Mayali Pass, Pin Bhaba Pass, Everest Basecamp and Gokyo Lakes, Brij Gangadhura etc.

Pradip is a senior Mountaineer, Rock Climber and Trekker, who has scaled several peaks and led difficult high-altitude treks such as Mayali Pass, Pin Bhaba Pass, Everest Basecamp and Gokyo Lakes, Brij Gangadhura etc. He summited notable peaks such as Kulu Makalu, Bhagirathi II, and Leo Purgyil among others. He did his Basic, Advanced, Liaison courses of NIM. He made a notable ascent of Mt. Nandadevi East in 2019. He also takes care of the field activities of our Nature Study and Rock Climbing camps.

Sujoy, is a dedicated trekker and traveler. who did his Basic Mountaineering course from HMI, has led numerous trek teams in India & Nepal.

He’s also a very enthusiastic Rock Climber and Videographer. Sujoy also is part of our technical team for Institutional Treks and Camping Trips. Sujoy is a Virat Kohli fanatic and never misses a match of his idol. DO NOT ask him about Kohli’s waning strike rate in the IPL.
Sujit Poddar
Designer
Sujit, the Designer of our all our graphic. Also being a travel enthusiast did some trips in North Bengal & many other parts of India. He’s also a very backbone of our front office operations.
